| My newest mockumentary is up on YouTube. "DDG Underground" is a video we did as a dorm staff so we had something fun to play while we counted votes for our dorm's hall video competition.

| This weekend was the first round of NFL regular season games. The new campus ministry intern at Erskine is from Scranton, PA, and just so happens to be a Steelers fan. We decided that we wanted to make it a priority to watch the game against Houston yesterday, so we called up a few places nearby and ended up going to a sports bar in Greenwood, SC. After church we threw on our Heath Miller jerseys, grabbed our terrible towels, and headed to the sports bar. We walk in about twenty minutes before game time to find four people at the bar and four sitting at nearby tables.
ALL STEELER FANS.... and the bartender? He was wearing a Roethlisberger jersey. The next few people in the door were Steeler fans, and when it was all said and done about 15 of 25 people in the house were Steeler fans. The bartender kept the Steeler fans around the bar the whole game (except for one cowboys fan). And what a game to watch....
Another unexpected surprise was the ability to watch Tom Brady get injured on one of the other TVs during a commercial on the Steelers game.... I really don't feel too bad for him.
HERE WE GO STEELERS! | | |
| "Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named a team captain for the first time in his five-year career, and will serve as an offensive co-captain along with wide receiver Hines Ward. Ward was voted a team captain for the fourth consecutive season after earning the honor in 2006-07. Inside linebacker James Farrior was named the team’s defensive captain for the fifth consecutive season in his seven years with the Steelers (2004-08). He served as defensive co-captain from 2004-06. Steelers kicker Jeff Reed was voted the team’s special teams captain for the first time in his career. Reed, now in his seventh NFL season, joined the steelers as a rookie free agent in 2002 and currently ranks third on the team’s all-time scoring list with 616 points."
.... thought it was interesting... the defensive captains for the Steelers in the last 11 seasons have been entirely linebackers except for 2002 when SS Lee Flowers was co-captain with LB Jason Gildon....

| Four and a half weeks of physical mission work has come to an end (though spiritually the work certainly continues as we uphold the church around the world in prayer). I'm tired, and quite honestly undergoing a more intense culture shock than I had when initially going over there. Thank you all for your prayers! It has been a great personal blessing as well as an intense blessing to the church abroad. I would petition you to keep in prayer our brothers and sisters in the Eglise Reformée Evangelique in Nantes, France. Most specifically I would ask prayer for the missionary there (Malcolm Ball), as he is in need of great strength and perseverance, and also for Monsieur Guyon, who is a Catholic man who came to church and had some good spiritual discussion with several members of our team. The following link is a brief video summarizing our work and play in France. Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to film our work, so don't be mislead by the video into thinking that we mostly did sight-seeing : )
